Macon Waves Swim Team   

Coach Eric

Eric Roberts joined the Macon Waves at the age of five and continued to swim for the Waves until he graduated from Mount de Sales Academy.  While in high-school, he was given All-State recognitions every year.

His senior year of high-school, he set a state record and school record.  Darton College gave him a swim scholarship for his freshman and sophomore college years.  During his freshman year, he was named to the All-American team in individual events along with First-team All-American honors in a Relay.  During his sophomore year of college, he was named team Captain by his fellow teammates and led his team to a 4th place finish at Nationals.  In the absence of his college coach, he assisted the interim head coach with writing workouts. While at Nationals his sophomore year, he assisted the Athletic Director with preparing the swimmers to get ready for the swim meet. 

As a coach, Eric started assisting coaching while in high school and continued to coach until he went away for college.  During his college years, he returned each summer to coach the Macon Waves.  During fall of 2009, he rejoined the Waves as an assistant coach.  In January 2010, he was named the Head Coach of the Macon Waves.

Coach Kayla

Kayla Kittrell comes to us from Columbus, GA where she started swimming at the age of seven, qualifying for state, sectionals, all-stars, and holding records in and out of her home pool. She served as the athlete representative, accompanying coaches to the GA Swimming LSC and House of Delegates meetings. At the age of sixteen, her interests turned from the world of competitive swimming to the active development of the younger swimmers on the team.

She is USA Swimming certified and an ASCA level one coach. While with the Columbus Hurricane swim team, she started out teaching developmental classes and progressed towards coaching age group swimmers.

Kayla is a Freshman at Mercer University and currently assists the team with our precompetitive swimming lessons as well as our Beginner swimming group.
